In celebration of the principles of American democracy, I've decided to bring attention to some great speeches by some previous American leaders. These speeches are in the MP3 format, and in the public domain, so please share freely.
Franklin D. Roosevelt, 1933 Inaugural Speech, March 4, 1933
Harry S. Truman, Democratic convention acceptance speech, July
15, 1948
Dwight Eisenhower, Farewell Speech "Military-Industrial
Complex", January 17, 1961
John F. Kennedy, 1961 Inaugural Speech, January 20, 1961
Also, I've included some statements that express my sentiments:

Currently, The United States of America is facing some of it's biggest challenges- increased worldwide terrorism; fewer international allies; an over-extended military; an under-funded homeland security force; a disregard for the basic elements of the Bill of Rights (right to legal representation, speedy trial, no search without due cause); denial of the Geneva Convention rules forbidding torture; a poorly conceived economic plan that is drivng America to record bankruptcies; an energy policy beholden to corporate underwriters; a government disregard for scientific evidence; a health insurance crisis for millions of uninsured Americans; and a multitude of different reasons why this country should seriously consider electing new leadership to govern this great country.
I encourage all American citizens to seek out the unbiased truths, recognize the validity of actual science, and go beyond partisan pandering to find new solutions to the big problems.
For the 2004 election, I'd recommend my own Digital Video for John Kerry page.
sincerely,
Eric Predoehl, a concerned American citizen
