America needs better leadership.
Once the beacon of hope, integrity, and democracy, America is now a shadow of its former self. The Bill of Rights has been severely compromised under the Patriot Act. Suspected terrorists are being thrown in jail without the right of legal representation, formal charges, or a trial of jurors.
The war in Iraq was a massive mistake that cost the lives of 10,000 Iraqi citizens, and over 900 American soldiers. Despite the frequent claims of the Bush administration, there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.
The Bush budget is an example of big government at its worst. President Bush took a record surplus and transformed it into a record deficit. Under the Bush tax plan, the bottom 60 percent of Americans received an average tax cut was just $304. In contrast, the average tax cut for those making over $1 million a year was $112,925. As a direct consequence of his fiscal management, in over six years an American family of four will take on $52,000 more in its share of the national debt. In other words, every man, woman, and child will be need to pay approximately $13,000 just to keep up with the mistakes of George W. Bush.
America is going bankrupt under President George W. Bush in more ways than one.
That’s why I’m endorsing John Kerry for President of the United States. I believe John Kerry is a superior candidate for this job, and will provide better accountability for his actions.
