Not a political issue so much as it is a MORAL issue….
Posted by Elvis under Politics

That particular quote, which I pulled from the trailer of a film I would very much like to see, strikes at the core of my political beliefs. I know some people who are very dear to me that believe that “all politics are stupid.” These are the same people that bitch about current conditions, yet continue to vote for the same type of corrupt assholes, over and over again.
I am more politically motivated these days because of my moral convictions. I believe that my government should not be in the business of killing people, using falsified information to justify their actions.
I believe that elected officials have a responsibility to their constituents to provide fair and accountable government.
I believe the American people deserve affordable health care that cannot be taken away when one loses a job or has a pre-existing health condition. In the richest world on the planet, one shouldn’t have to get thrown in jail to get decent health care. I believe every American citizen should be entitled to the same type of health care that their elected representatives in Congress have.
Yes, I am very angry over a lot of things, and when I see the level of incompetence in government, I cannot help but feel sickened. Now more than ever, I see politics as a matter of morality.
If “all poltics are stupid,” then the Marshall Plan, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and all those consumer safety regulations installed by progressive-thinking politicians were all just a waste of time.
